Pharmaceutical Industry

My name is Denise. I would like to go into pharmaceutical industry after I get my pharmD. Do I risk taking a paycut because I am not going into community pharmacy? Also, is it better to complete a fellowship or not? Thanks

Re: Pharmaceutical Industry

Denise,

You can access the latest salary survey information at http://drugtopics.modernmedicine.com/dr … &date=

This survey does not compare pharmaceutical industry with other practice settings, but will give you a "ball park" of the salary ranges that you can expect.

In my experience, I have seen that it is much more difficult for recent grads to find a position in the area of pharmaceutical industry without completing an industry fellowship first.  Many of the pharmaceutical companies are looking for those with experience in the industry and one of the best ways to gain that experience is by completing a fellowship.

You can also learn more about industry fellowships in a Student Pharmacist Magazine article at http://www.pharmacist.com/AM/Template.c … Fellowship

Best of Luck!
