About Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies

Georgetown University's School of Nursing and Health Studies (NHS) is a dynamic academic organization dedicated to its mission, which, in part, reads - "to improve the health and well-being of all people." With four Bachelor of Science degrees - Healthcare Management and Policy, Human Science, and International Health, and Nursing, - you can be sure that you will receive the best preparation for the health profession of your choice, whether it is in research, policy, medicine, nursing, law, policy, or business.

As one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious universities, Georgetown is steeped in tradition and grounded in the Jesuit values of academic excellence, leadership, and service. As is evident in the NHS mission— to improve the health and well being of all people— NHS is particularly dedicated to achieving the Jesuit ideal of cura personalis, care for the whole person.

Located on Georgetown University's main and medical campuses in northwest Washington, D.C., NHS has the advantage of being at the center of the action. Our faculty are leaders in the health field, valued for their excellence in teaching, research, and practice, and personally available to students through small classes and their role as advisors.

We invite you to take a look at the various academic paths available to you at NHS and contact us with any questions. We hope we will have the chance to get to know you!

Application Deadline Wednesday November 1, 2006
Description

Georgetown's Early Action program is grounded in the belief that students should be free to choose among colleges until the Candidate's Reply Date. Accordingly, accepted students will have the same reply date (May 1) as all candidates.

In keeping with this principle, students applying under the Early Action program may not apply at the same time to binding Early Decision programs since they then would not be free to choose Georgetown if admitted. Students are welcome to apply to other Early Action programs or other Regular Decision programs while at the same time applying to Georgetown's Early Action program.

The Early Action program is designed to enable superior students to learn of their admission early in their senior year. Students offered admission under the Early Action program are those the Committee on Admissions feels confident would be admitted at Regular Decision.
