COLLEGE FINANCING ALTERNATIVES
There are
many ways to finance college. Some community service programs
offer loan forgiveness options or grants in exchange for helping
people in need. These are great ways to gain work experience,
help others, and pay for part of your schooling at the same
time.

Hot tip: Do
the Tuition Shuffle
Got time this summer? Why not take a couple of general education
classes at your local community college? (Make sure your regular
college will accept the credits, first.) Chances are the community
college tuition is cheaper and you can get some core credits
out of the way. For example, Ohio residents pay about $73
per credit hour at Columbus State Community College or $7,479
for a full-time load of 12 hours or above at The Ohio State
University, a regular public university. You could save hundreds
by taking six credits at the community college, plus your
diploma still says "Ohio State." You may need to
get these courses pre-approved, so check with your advisor
before you enroll.
