The Howard Hughes Biomedical Scholar Summer Program
The Howard Hughes Biomedical Scholar Summer Program (HHBSSP) is an opportunity for high ability students who are interested in the biomedical sciences to complete the first half of General Chemistry lecture the summer before entering college. There is no separate application for this program. Participants are selected from students who apply to attend Xavier.

Application Deadline:
Students may apply after September 1. There is no deadline for applying BUT, since there are many more applicants than positions available, students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Acceptance will be made beginning 12/1. The program will probably be filled by 2/1.

Fee (in 2002):
The cost is $570 per student for tuition and books and an additional $850 for housing on campus.  Some scholarships are available for students who apply early and have either an obvious need and/or an exceptional academic record.
