The
Douglass Project for Rutgers Women in Math, Science
& Engineering
The Douglass Project for Rutgers Women in Math,
Science & Engineering is an award-winning program
dedicated to supporting undergraduate women and students
at secondary level interested in studying math, sciences,
engineering and technology by:
- Developing, coordinating, and evaluating programs
in these fields
- Enhancing educational experiences and providing
personal development and leadership opportunities
- Encouraging students to recognize their abilities
and attain their educational goals
- Providing support systems that foster a general
competence in mathematics, science and technology.
The
Douglass Project offers a number of programs
for pre-college and undergraduate women. The number
of participants for each program is kept small to allow
for individualized attention.

The
Douglass Science Institute (DSI)
A summer residential experience in hands-on science
for 9th through 12th grade New Jersey girls. Students
apply during their eight grade year and return each
year, building on their previous experience.

Career
Day
A one-day annual event bringing together 11th and
12th grade New Jersey girls and professional women
from diverse science, math, engineering and technology
fields.
- Weekend
Academy
New Jersey girls in 9th and 10th grades spend three
Saturdays at Douglass College experiencing hands-on
science and technology, and making connections with
women scientists.
