The Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program (BOP)
Krannert School of Management, Purdue University

The BOP Program started in April 1968 and was designed to interest talent minority students (African-American, Mexican American, Puerto Rican, and Native American) in management careers and begins on campus with an 8-week summer school program prior to a student's freshman year. Students earn college credit in English 101 (3 hrs.), Math 151 (Algebra, 5 hrs.), Math 161 (Calculus, 5 hrs.), Com 114 (3 hrs.) and Computer Science (2 hrs.). Krannert graduate students work closely with undergraduates and become mentors to the undergraduate BOP students. This is a residential program.

Prerequisites/Application Process:
This program is for high school graduates beginning their freshman year in college. Applicants must be admitted to Purdue and committed to attending Purdue.

Fee (in 2001):
None. The Program is paid by for by gifts from corporate donors.
