"Are career aptitude tests in any way good guidance?"

Career aptitude tests are good stepping off points. I would, however, advise against following the results of the test if they are based solely in a certain area of study. Whether or not one is "good" at a career track, does not ensure success or, more importantly, fulfillment. Just because you are good at something does not mean it will be one of your passions.

I believe that career aptitude tests are a good indicator as to interests and academic strengths of a student. Some colleges require you to take these types of tests during orientation to the college or university. We do not require this, but offer it as an option through our career center at any time.
